Inspired and integrated art and history

Students continue to build strong grammar and composition skills through descriptive and expository writing. Our Spelling course further incorporates grammar to supplement writing skills. Life and physical sciences are the point of focus for 7th grade science, and your child is introduced to the characteristics of living things, sound, light, motion, forces, and energy.

Math

Students develop an understanding of proportional relationships, add and subtract integers, perform operations with rational and irrational numbers, simplify algebraic expressions, and approximate probability and relative frequency.

Language Arts

Students continue to build strong grammar and composition skills through descriptive narrative, expository writing, and poetry. Students enjoy novels, poems, and works of nonfiction.

Science

Students explore Life Science through inquiry and scientific thought. Topics explored include cell function, processes of plants, animal behavior, the systems of the human body, and ecology. Engaging virtual labs and diverse instructional materials create a rich learning experience.

History

Students are captivated by the past as they study the fall of Rome through the Enlightenment.

Geography

Students explore the essential elements, themes, and branches of geography while studying the Earth’s climate, environment, resources, global populations, cultures, government, and economics, with a particular focus on Europe and Russia.

Technology

More sophisticated topics such as networks, web research and validation, desktop publishing, and databases are introduced.

Art

Students apply concepts from Art History, including creating trilithons and step pyramids and designing various buildings.

Art History

A Child’s History of Art: Architecture is explored with applied lessons designing structures.
